Macka B is a British-born Jamaican reggae artist who is widely known as one of Britain’s most influential dancehall DJs.
Influenced by Jamaican toasters U-Roy, I-Roy, Big Youth, and Prince Far I, he started working with Mad Professor in the mid-1980’s after first appearing with Birmingham’s Jah Wasifa Sound System.
Notable releases include Sign of the Times (1986), We’ve Had Enough (1987), Looks Are Deceiving (1988), Buppie Culture with Kofi (1989), Roots Ragga (1993), Here Comes Trouble (1994), Discrimination (1995), Roots & Culture (1999).
Macka B has worked with artists such as Burning Spear, U-Roy, The Wailers, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry and the Twinkle Brothers over his 40 year career.
